Wired Declairs that “The Web is Dead.” I agree!
If you’re a digital junkie like me, you’ve no doubt had this debate before. I’ve often called the desktop (web) browser the Model T of the internet experience. While others debate the numbers Wired used in this article, I will go on record saying I suspect that within 5 years the desktop web browser will be one of the least important delivery mechnaisms for a rich internet experience. The future is in semi-closed platform delivery. Think smartphones, set-top box appliances, televisions, cars, etc… It’s an exciting evolution.
